Christine Phillips joins the staff at the Virtual Center for Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome as she makes a big career change. Christine worked as a teacher to elementary and middle school children for a decade before making this pivot. She is the mother of a disabled and medically complex child who requires many hospitalizations and appointments, thus causing her to find a career that better matches the time demands and flexibility needs of her family. Christine is positive, forward thinking, and inclusive of all. She brings her love of organization, order, and appreciation for those walking a similar path to her family to the Virtual Center for VCFS. Christine was raised in a small town in Upstate New York but moved to the Syracuse Suburbs for college and never left. She has since married and begun a family in the area. Christine volunteers with non-profit organizations such as Project CASK, a non-profit pushing the boundaries and funding research and treatments for the genetic disorder her daughter has, CASK Gene Disorder. Christine has a Masters Degree in Instruction and Learning and considers herself to be a life-long lover of learning new things so she is excited to learn more about the VCFS community. She is eager to join the team at the Virtual Center for VCFS to provide administrative support and membership assistance.
